Moss Park is a community in the southeast region of Orlando, Florida, in a collection of communities known as Lake Nona. It is actually a conglomerate of five subdivisions; Moss Park Reserve, the Enclave at Moss Park, Moss Park Landing, Moss Park Ridge, and Moss Park Commons. The community takes its name from the Orange County conservation park nearby, which offers camping, picnicking, swimming, hiking, fishing and boating on both Lake Hart and Lake Mary Jane.
Moss Park is in the northern part of Lake Nona, which affords it easy access to the Central Florida Greenway (hwy 417). This highway makes the community a mere 20 minutes away from Orlando City Center, 10 minutes away from Orlando International Airport and 30 minutes away from Cape Canaveral and the Space Coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The area also boasts the new addition of the Lake Nona Medical Center, which offers, among new hospital services, a children’s hospital, a new Veteran’s Affairs hospital, medical sciences campuses for both the University of Central Florida and the University of Florida as well as medical research facilities, putting Lake Nona on the cutting edge of medical service delivery. There are also two major golf courses in the area just minutes away for the avid golfer. Moss Park also shares land with the Wycliffe Religious Development Center which offers spiritual services for the faithful in the community. Exciting commercial developments in the area such as new malls and business parks are also opening up in the area all the time, providing all the amenities that urban living require.
Each community within Moss Park has its own personality and housing style. Moss Park Reserve is a gated community of custom and semi-custom homes, some of which are on lakefront property. Square footage in the neighborhood ranges from 2700 sq. ft. to 9000 sq. ft. and a price range from $350 000 to one million dollars. Resale homes are never older than 10 years old. Moss Park Commons consists of townhomes built by Beazer Homes offering a community pool and playground at its center, making it an ideal community for young families. The Enclave also has a community pool and park area, while Moss Park reserve fronts on Lake Hart. Lastly, Moss Park Reserve shares a close affinity to the Wycliffe Development Center, giving it a strong Christian foundation to build a family home upon.
